Steering Committee
The Steering Committee of the National Observation Service RENOIR is of major importance, as confirmed throughout the first three years of existence of the network, particularly during the periods of confinement related to COVID-19.
The principal functions of the Steering Committee are to assure:
- The coherence of the network (siting of the stations, colocalization, new stations, station closure, sampling frequency and calendar, links with other national networks, such as eLTER-France OZCAR*, etc.);
- The financing of operations (annual grant applications, distribution of the funds obtained, specific requests on the part of Steering Committee members, etc.);
- The organization of comparative evaluations nationally as well as internationally in the context of our relationship with the Global Network of Isotopes in Precipitation (GNIP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA);
- Implementation of the database (constructed jointly with IDOC/OSUPS**), and database management (valorisation).
Plenary meeting
RENOIR owes its development not only to the support of its Steering Committee and Scientific Committee, assisted by the INSU/CNRS***, but also to all the colleagues, laboratories and partners that have enabled it to exist and guarantee its sustainability.
The Plenary Meeting is attended by all the station directors as well as all the staff responsible for sample collection, sample analyses and data management.
You can consult the list of station directors at: https://sno-renoir.osups.universite-paris-saclay.fr/les-laboratoires/
Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee of RENOIR is composed of internationally renowned scientific experts, including notably a member of the Isotopic Hydrology Section of the IAEA, with which we are closely linked via our participation in the GNIP. The Scientific Committee issues recommendations to the Steering Committee and at the Plenary Meeting, concerning the policies envisaged and the scientific and strategic orientations of RENOIR.
The Scientific Committee of RENOIR comprises:
– Dr Luis ARAGUAS-ARAGUAS, Network Coordinator, Isotope Hydrologist Isotope Hydrology Section, International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria;
– Dr (to be defined)
– Dr (to be defined)
The Scientific Committee meets every 2 years.
